Impeachment Proceeding In Washington State

State Senator Eric Oemig of the 45th Legislative District
has agreed to sponsor a resolution to impeach President Bush
in the state legislature in Olympia.
There was quite a turnout at the announcement in Bellevue today.

The four articles which have been proposed:
1. Illegal wiretapping
2. Lying to Congress to initiate a war of aggression in Iraq
3. Torture and extraordinary rendition;
and
4. disdain for LAW and checks & balances

I may add that when Bush was running the 1st time he commented that when it came to legal technicalities he would let his conscience be his guide, and he has operated under that philosophy ever since.

The recent Watada mistrial should make it clear that when there was an agreement on the "stipulation of facts" but not on whether that was an offense or a defense AND it was also determined that the legality of the war upon which the Lieutenant used his conscience as his guide was not a matter for the military court, then it must have a hearing in congress if not the world court. While these are different events they have similar foundations.
